Wonderful Wednesday! Pyramids, Non fiction and Soil!!

Hi all,

Today in math, our objective was to construct pyramids and explore relationships among the number of faces, edges, and vertices in pyramids.  Take a look at the students making their own pyramids!

Tonight for homework, your child will show you how to make one! And also talk to them about the number of faces, edges, and vertices! Have fun!

In writing today, we are continuing to draft our non fiction stories... Today we worked on introduction, diagrams, and much more!

In Science, we started our new unit- SOILS.  We discussed what we already know about soil and what we want to learn.... Students looked at soil with magnifying glasses and discussed what they saw.  We used our 5 senses to describe our findings.... I also read the story Looking at Soil by Judith Rosenbaum.  We discussed the different types of soil.

Humus, Sand, and Clay make up soil.

Take a look at our scientists observing soil today!
Kevin is carefully looking at the soil...
