Hi All,

   Just a quick note... Today in math, we explored weights on a bath scale, developed readiness for division and explored patterns....

   We also did math stations today!!!  Take a look!!

In reading today, our objective was "good readers summarize what they read and include key details.... " The students practiced retelling a chapter in the story "The Stories Julian Tells"....

Wonderful Wednesday! 100th Day of School! Doubling... Halves.. Summarizing, adding details, describing hummus, clay, and sand...

Hi All....

HAPPY 100th Day of School!!! Can you believe it???!?!?   

 In math today... we went over doubling and halves with wubbles.... We practiced this skill during the whole group lesson and the students had the chance to do it independently...

    The students have one page of math homework tonight.... Lesson 7.4...

Doubles...

Halves....

 

 

In reading, our objective was "good readers include key vocabulary in a summary... "

 

In writing our objective was "good writers use key vocabulary and important details when extending or continuing a story..."  Today the students got to change the ending to a story... and use their own details....

 

In Science, we looked closely at hummus, sand, and soil... We used our 5 senses to describe our findings....

 

 

Tonight, I have assigned one page of reading homework....

Terrific Thursday! Math Arithmetic... Transforming hearts, Valentine's Day Party!

Hi All,

   In Math, our objective was to build mental arithmetic skills for adding three of more 1- and 1- digit numbers....

 

We played basketball with points to help us!

We also transformed hearts today!!! Take a look at these creative minds!!!!!

Wonderful Wednesday! Extending Compliments of 10, retelling, point of view..

Hi All,

    In math today, we talked about extending complements of 10....

In reading today, our objective was "good readers can identify key details in a story and use them to write a summary..."

In writing today, our objective was "good writers can use details and information from the text to write from another's character's point of view..."

 

Also, this afternoon the students started decorating their bags in preparation for tomorrow's Valentine's Day Party!!

 

 

What a great day!!

Tonight I have assigned one page of math & reading homework...

Tomorrow is our Valentine's Day Party! :)
