Hi all,

   Today we continued our writing celebration of our 5 senses stories.... We also shared our stories with Mrs. Mazzo's room!!

We had our pajama paw party.... we watched the movie HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL

Terrific Thursday, Perimeter, Publishing, and more

Hi all,

    Today in math, we talked about perimeter.  We measured objects to the nearest centimeter and inch. 

Above is an example of measuring perimeter.... The top and bottom of the rectangle is 7 inches and the sides are 3 inches each.  All together this rectangle is 20 inches. :)

 

Today, we completed publishing our 5 senses books!!  Some students shared today!

 

 

Tomorrow we will have a movie/paw party day!!!

Kudos to our class for receiving 30 paws!!!

 

Also Camilo was on PawPect Pink today!!

Wonderful Wednesday! Fractional Units of Length, Publishing....

Hi All,

   Today in Math, we talked about fractional units of length using inches, centimeters, nearest inch and centimeters (using rulers). 

   In writing, we are completing publishing our 5 senses stories!! We will be sharing them tomorrow! The students are working very hard on their stories!!!

  

 

I have sent home one page of math homework and one page of reading homework!

Terrific Tuesday! Linear Measures, Lesson in the story, Publishing...

Hi all,

   In Math today, our objective was reviewing measures with inches, feet, centimeters, and decimeters; and to guide children as they begin a table of equivalent linear measures.

In reading today, we talked about the lesson in the story... I read the story My Many Colored Days By Dr Seuss.  We talked about how it is okay to feel many things and feel different colors... And the lesson is "it is okay to feel different everyday"

 

 

In writing, we are continuing our publishing process.... (5 senses book)...

 

Today, I have assigned one page of math homework....

 

I have also sent home a special assignment for students to pick 3 famous leaders....

 

We have been discussing famous leaders for our next biography unit.... "Leading the Way"...

 

Examples of Leaders include:

Barack Obama

George Washington

Thomas Edison

Helen Keller

Rosa Parks

George Bush

Ruby Bridges

Walt Disney

 

Van Gogh

Marvelous Monday! Measuring Yards/Meters, Publishing 5 senses book...

Hi all,

    Today in math, I introduced yards and meters.... We estimated how many students would fit in the room.... From our paw board to the cubbies!! It was about 7 students!  Take a look!!!

I have assigned one page of math homework tonight...

 

In reading, students looked for important details in their stories...

 

In writing, we continued to publish our 5 senses stories....

 

 

I have assigned 1 page of reading homework....

I guess the snow is not giving up!!! Especially today!??!!? Isn't it supposed to be the first day of Spring????  Ahhhhhhhh.... Let's hope this is the end of the snow!!!

Can't wait to see those flowers and grass again :)

Wonderful Wednesday! Math Open Response, Publishing....

Hi All,

    What a great day!! We practiced our math open response for our unit 8 test tomorrow!!!

         The students practiced this skill as a whole class, partners, and independently!

    We started our publishing process.... The students decorated their cover page for their 5 senses book....

   Conferences have started... :)  Thanks so far to the parents who have came!!! I look forward to seeing everyone!!!

   Tomorrow and Friday are early release days!!! 

A reminder that I have given one page of reading and one page of math homework!!!
