Terrific Tuesday! Open Response for math, Charlotte's Web...

Hi all,

      Some quick announcements.... Today in math we practiced our open response.....

We practiced problem solving.... Our practice page said....

 

Elizabeth has 10 coins.  Daniel has 5 coins.

There are a total of 4 quarters.

Daniel has more than 1.00.

Daniel's coins are worth twice as much as Elizabeth's coins.

DDDDDPPPPP = $0.55

 

Show Daniel's coins

QQQQD= $1.10

 

First, I gave Daniel 4 quarters and a dime.  That was $1.10.  That is an even number.  I split $1.10 in half and got $0.55.  Elizabeth has $0.55 and Daniel has $1.10.

In reading, we continued reading Charlotte's Web.... We are almost done!!!!

Please have your child return the field trip form for Charlotte's web's theater if they have not already!

Also, please remember tomorrow is an early release day.... Students will be dismissed at 1:20pm...

 

Tomorrow we have our Unit 10 Math Test.... Time is flying!!!!!
