Marvelous Monday! Pockets, Plot Map, Brainstorming, Election Day....

Hi All,

In math today, students had the chance to gather data and enter it in a table (bar graph) and to demonstrate a strategy for finding the middle value in a data set.

In reading, the students practiced using a story map to identify the author's structure.  Students practiced doing this with their reading partners using the book A Chair for my Mother by Vera B Williams.

Take a look at our hard working students....

In writing, students practiced brainstorming ideas.  The students listed things they want for their family and ways they can earn money for them!  Take a look at what some students want for their families!!

Jaiden wants a new piano and he is going to earn the money by helping his mom at her job.
Bennett wants a new trampoline.  Bennett will rake the neighbors leaves to earn money.
Samantha wants a new shower and bathtub.  She will help the neighbors with their dog to earn the money.
Kathryn wants a new computer.  She will earn money by having a yard sale.

During Social Studies, the students wrote reasons why they would be a good classroom president for room 114!!! We have some persuasive politicians in here!! Take a look!
