Terrific Tuesday! Total/part, stop and chat strategy and publishing!

Hi All,

   Today the students practiced Parts-and-total number stories.  An example that we used was a domino.

 

 

The students wrote the number 6 and 3 in the part boxes.  And, the total was 9.  The number model was 6+3=9. 

 

Tonight, I have assigned one page of math homework. 

 

 

     In reading, our objective was good readers use a stop and chat strategy to check for meaning and share thinking during reading.

In writing, the students are finishing publishing their stories.... Soon, we will be reading them to Mrs. Mazzo's class!!! We are so excited for Friday! :)
