Hi All!
Just a few things! Today the students continued with math stations. In unit 1, we are reviewing time, money, place value, counting, and number grids.
In reading, the students worked on classifying fiction versus non fiction. A student said, "Non fiction is something real... like you and me... humans... we are real." Another student said, "Yes... but, there is also fiction... that is the opposite... like the movie frozen... that's fiction!" I love how the students use their real life connections when they connect their thoughts to a lesson!
In writing, we wrote about a very special place and used a 5 senses chart to help come up with descriptive words (prewriting). Many of the students are using their summer memories, vacations, and weekends to express their exciting thoughts!
***Reminder.... Tomorrow is an Early Release Day...*** Dismissal is at 1:20pm.... Please send me a note in your child's homework folder if your child is going home a different way....
