In reading, I read the story The One by Kathryn Otoshi... Here is a synopsis of the book...

Blue is a quiet color. Red’s a hothead who likes to pick on Blue. Yellow, Orange, Green, and Purple don’t like what they see, but what can they do? When no one speaks up, things get out of hand — until One comes along and shows all the colors how to stand up, stand together, and count. As budding young readers learn about numbers, counting, and primary and secondary colors, they also learn about accepting each other's differences and how it sometimes just takes one voice to make everyone count.

"Sometimes it just takes ONE":-)

I recommend this book for all parents and students to reread!!! It is a great book that incorporates how we are all different and how we are all important in our own way!! It is a very motivating and moving book for children of all ages!! It is one of my new favorites hands down! What a powerful message!!!
Celeste said her Uncle took a stand for her!

Jonathan said Jaiden stood up for him!

Nakiyah said her brother Corey stood up for her!

Nicole said her brother stood up for her!

Today, in Science.... we had an investigation with mixing gravel with water, tissue paper and water, and salt and water... The students observed changes and wrote down their observations.... The students observed gravel and water mixture, tissue and water mixture, and salt and water mixture.... The students observed what the mixture looked like before and after stirring... Here are some of the observations we recorded....

What a fun filled day with so much learning!!!  We have completed our Unit 1 foundations unit... On Monday, we will start our Vera B Williams Unit (Author Study).... Time flies by fast when you work hard!!!

Also, as a class... we did our sensory break!!! It helps get out the wiggles, release energy... and get ready for learning!!!

Have a great weekend!!
Best,
Miss Ignatiadis
