Today in Math, our objective was to demonstrate the inverse relationship between addition and subtraction; and to provide practice for addition and subtraction facts for sums up to and including 10. Students worked with their fact family triangles in their math tool kits! Also, tonight I sent home homework for the students to cut their own fact triangles and practice them at home! They do not need to return these at school! They have their own set in their math tool kits!
In reading, our objective was Good Readers use information gained from the illustrations and text to infer character feelings. We read the book Too Many Tamales and we made inferences about Maria feeling worried because she lost her mother's ring... We used the illustration to help us make this inference.
In writing our objective was "good writers use editing to help with the writing process"... Students are continuing to edit/revise their drafts to get ready for the publishing process... Can you believe we are almost done with UNIT 1 foundations?!?!
A reminder that I sent home one page of math homework tonight!
